Andrew Briggs, DPhil
Health Economist
Andrew is a Professor of Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. His predominant methodological focus of research is health economic evaluation, particularly statistical methods for cost-effectiveness analysis. This includes statistical methods for estimation of parameters for cost-effectiveness models, statistical analysis of cost-effectiveness, and clinical trials. Andrew has a more general interest in epidemiological methods, in particular the use of prognostic scoring methods for predicting health outcomes and the relationship with heterogeneity in cost-effectiveness analysis.
Svitlana Usachova, MSc
Health Economics Modeller
Svitlana Usachova joined the modelling team at Occam Research in October 2024, working on the development of health economic models. Svitlana supports model development in Excel and R, including Markov models, survival analysis, and cost-effectiveness modelling. She has a Master’s degree in Economics and a background in software testing, which gives her strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving. Svitlana also brings a background in data analytics and test automation, with hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and Tableau. Her prior work in QA engineering and data analysis helps her ensure the accuracy, robustness, and transparency of complex health economic models.
Adrienne Burrough, MSc
Business Manager
Adrienne is the Business Manager at Occam Research Ltd responsible for managing projects, finances and staff. Adrienne has 25 years’ experience in international project management. She has managed multi-million pound budgets working with a wide number of stakeholders from different economic settings. She also has experience in securing project funding. Her interest is in health and development, and she has an MSc in Global Health and Development from UCL. Adrienne is South African but has lived in the UK for 30 years. She particularly enjoys working with teams and building relationships with clients.
